Finding your own best answers
Being a human being in a complex world isn't easy, and yet the way we each find our way is beautifully unique. As a therapist, I want to help you understand your own story and find healing, meaning, and purpose. I focus on creating a safe and accepting space to explore what's hurting.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, mindfulness, acceptance-based strategies, and EMDR to help you manage pain, heal from trauma, tell more helpful stories about your life, and move forward. Being EMDR trained helps me see the connections between your past and your present, including how memory networks and old survival behaviors shape your life today.
I'm also a climate-aware therapist. I start from the assumption that anxiety, grief, anger, and distress about the climate crisis are reasonable reactions to what humanity faces. I offer a validating space to talk about those fears and to find ways to live meaningfully and embrace joy in an imperfect world. Therapy is a collaboration, and I adapt my approach to your priorities and preferences.

In the depths of winter I at last discovered that there was in me an invincible summer.

Outside the office
I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois with an MA in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. Before Bodhi, I spent three years in community mental health and worked in substance use assessment and treatment. Before training as a therapist, I was an editor, arts educator, and community organizer. In my spare time, I write poetry and nonfiction and enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, and being outdoors.
