Elsie Krueger, MSW Intern

About Elsie

Life can be complicated, and each person’s journey through it is unique. The experiences we carry, the relationships we build, and the identities we hold all shape how we move through the world. I believe therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and better understand your story. As a therapist-in-training, my role is to walk alongside you as you explore what you need, work through challenges, and move toward greater healing and self-understanding.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is person-centered and collaborative. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be a powerful vehicle for change, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I want therapy to be a place where you can show up as you are, explore what is meaningful to you, and work toward the changes you want to make in your life.

Creating Space for Identity, Culture & Connection

I believe our culture, identities, relationships, and life experiences can deeply influence how we understand ourselves and our mental health. I am passionate about creating an affirming and culturally responsive space where you can explore these parts of yourself without feeling like you have to leave any part of your identity at the door.

I have a particular interest in supporting college students, LGBTQIA+ individuals, adoptees, women, and BIPOC communities, as well as those navigating grief and loss, trauma, relationships, and culture and identity concerns.

Therapy Is a Collaboration

I don't believe there is one “right” way to work through life’s challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I will meet you where you are while respecting your priorities, needs, and pace. Together, we can explore what feels most important to you and find an approach that feels supportive and meaningful.

Areas of Experience

I have a particular interest in working with college students, LGBTQIA+ individuals, grief and loss, adoptees, women’s issues, relationship concerns, BIPOC communities, trauma, and culture and identity issues.

Education & Training

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePaul University and am currently a Master of Social Work candidate at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Outside of work, I enjoy tending to my indoor and outdoor gardens, brewing a good cup of tea, swimming, drawing, and writing. I also love hiking and exploring new places, always looking for my next little adventure
