ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Welcome to a sanctuary of understanding and growth. I'm V, a queer and AUDHD identified therapist, dedicated to accompanying individuals on their path to healing from religious trauma, embracing LGBTQ+ identities, and navigating neurodiversity with resilience and grace.

Journeying through Religious Trauma: Imagine standing at the intersection of faith and self-discovery, grappling with the weight of beliefs that no longer resonate with your truth. That's where I come in. Drawing from my own experiences and professional expertise, I offer a compassionate hand to guide you through the shadows of religious trauma. Together, we'll untangle the threads of indoctrination, reclaiming your autonomy and inner peace.

Celebrating LGBTQ+ Identities: Picture a space where your authenticity shines brighter than any shadow of doubt or fear. That's the space I create for individuals exploring their LGBTQ+ identities. Whether you're coming out, navigating relationships, or confronting discrimination, I stand beside you as an unwavering ally and advocate. Your journey is sacred, and I'm here to honor it in all its colors and complexities.

Embracing Neurodiversity: Close your eyes and envision a world that celebrates differences rather than stigmatizes them. That's the world I envision for neurodivergent individuals. Drawing from my expertise in working with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences, I offer a nurturing environment where your unique strengths are cherished and your challenges met with understanding and support.

Within the walls of my practice, you'll find more than just a therapist's office – you'll find a sanctuary of healing. Rooted in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, feminist and sex-postive frameworks, my approach prioritizes safety, empowerment, and collaboration. Here, your voice matters, your experiences are validated, and your journey unfolds with dignity and respect. I believe in the power of narrative – the power of your story to shape and transform your reality.

That's why I offer person-centered therapy tailored to your individual needs, goals, and aspirations. Together, we'll co-create a roadmap for your journey, honoring the wisdom within and the possibilities ahead. I offer specialized therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Play Therapy, and Expressive Arts therapy.

Let's acknowledge the elephant in the room – the systemic barriers that often obstruct the path to healing and growth, especially for marginalized communities. Therapy isn't about fixing you; it's about equipping you with the tools and resilience to navigate a world that doesn't always understand or embrace your truth. Your journey is sacred, and I'm deeply honored to walk alongside you as you navigate its twists and turns. Take the first step toward healing and self-discovery today. Your story matters, and together, we'll author a narrative of resilience, empowerment, and hope.

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through
that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do.”

— Brene Brown

I received my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have lived in the CU area for a over 10 years, hailing originally from Indiana. My professional experience is in working with survivors of trauma, with a focus on domestic violence and sexual assault. I spend much of my time volunteering with Uniting Pride as a current board member. My passion for queer liberation extends both into my professional and personal life and I love the work I am able to do through Uniting Pride to support the queer community in CU. When I do finally get a chance to relax, you can find me playing D&D, attending local drag shows, cuddling with my cats, practicing tarot, and frequenting local karaoke nights. I embrace the power of self-disclosure in a balanced therapeutic relationship, so please don’t hesitate to ask about my interests and lived experience!
