Who EMDR may help

EMDR may help adults and teens who are processing traumatic or distressing life events, living with PTSD or trauma-related symptoms, coping with anxiety, panic, or intrusive thoughts, healing from childhood, relational, or medical trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns tied to past experiences. It's a good fit if you want a trauma-focused therapy that doesn't rely on a lot of talking.

What EMDR may include

  • Identifying distressing memories or experiences to work on

  • Support for nervous system regulation and stabilization

  • Bilateral stimulation to help with reprocessing

  • Reducing emotional and physical distress linked to past events

  • Integrating insights, strengths, and more helpful beliefs

  • Combining EMDR with relational and strengths-based approaches

EMDR Therapy

Heal from trauma without having to retell every detail

Maybe past trauma still shows up in your daily life through intrusive memories or emotions that feel too big. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess memories that got stuck, so they lose some of their emotional and physical charge.

How EMDR works at Bodhi

At Bodhi, EMDR is trauma-informed and client-centered, with safety, pacing, and consent first. Your therapist works with you to build stabilization and coping skills before any memory reprocessing. EMDR doesn't require you to describe traumatic experiences in detail, and treatment follows your readiness and goals.

EMDR can help with single-incident trauma and with more complex or developmental trauma, as well as other experiences that keep affecting your emotional well-being.
