Who trauma-informed therapy may help

Trauma-informed therapy can help adults, teens, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm, the effects of childhood or relational trauma, medical trauma or chronic stress, or identity-based and systemic trauma. It can also help if you feel disconnected, hypervigilant, or numb, and want a therapy that respects your safety and autonomy.

What therapy may include

  • Prioritizing emotional and physical safety

  • Nervous system regulation and stabilization

  • Identifying trauma responses without judgment

  • Exploring patterns shaped by past experiences

  • Building coping strategies and internal resources

  • Strengths-based and relational approaches

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Safety, choice and healing at your pace

Trauma can come from many experiences, including abuse, neglect, systemic oppression, medical trauma, relationship harm, or chronic stress. Trauma-informed therapy at Bodhi recognizes how widespread its impact is, and puts emotional safety, choice, and collaboration first. Trauma responses are adaptive and rooted in survival, not pathology.

Our approach

At Bodhi, trauma-informed therapy creates an environment that supports regulation, trust, and empowerment. Your therapist follows your pace, with attention to nervous system responses, boundaries, and personal agency. We use evidence-based practices while staying flexible to your needs, identity, and lived experience.

You don't have to retell traumatic events in detail. Healing can come through awareness, self-compassion, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.
