Who relational therapy may help

Relational therapy may help adults, teens, and families who are dealing with relationship stress or conflict, struggling with trust or intimacy, healing from relational or attachment trauma, or exploring identity within relationships. It's especially helpful if you notice the same patterns showing up again and again, or struggle with closeness, conflict, or expressing emotions.

What therapy may include

  • Exploring attachment patterns and relationship history

  • Looking at boundaries, communication, and emotional needs

  • Repairing relational wounds and rebuilding trust

  • Insight into patterns of connection and disconnection

  • Trauma-informed and strengths-based perspectives

  • Emotional regulation within relationships

Relational Therapy

Understanding yourself through your relationships

Relational therapy looks at how your emotional well-being is shaped by relationships, past and present. Patterns of connection, attachment, and communication develop in response to early experiences and keep influencing how you relate to yourself and others. Therapy becomes a space to explore those patterns with curiosity, compassion, and care.

How it works at Bodhi

In relational therapy, the relationship with your therapist is a key part of healing. You'll work together to look at relational patterns, emotional responses, and ways of connecting that feel familiar but no longer serve you. Over time, that builds self-awareness, emotional safety, and room for more fulfilling relationships.

Relational therapy can be part of individual, teen, family, and couples counseling.
