Who grief counseling may help

Grief counseling may help individuals and families grieving the death of a loved one, experiencing anticipatory grief or ambiguous loss, or coping with loss related to chronic illness or disability. It can also help if you can't safely talk about your grief with friends or family, if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or isolated, or if you're worried you aren't grieving the right way.

What counseling may include

  • Space to process emotions related to loss

  • Normalizing every kind of grief response, including delayed or complicated grief

  • Meaning-making and continuing bonds with the person you lost

  • Support for sudden or traumatic loss

  • Exploring how loss changes your sense of identity

  • Coping with anniversaries, holidays, and family gatherings

Grief Counseling

Compassionate support for every kind of loss

Grief is a natural response to loss. It can come from the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, changes in health, shifts in identity, or major life transitions. There's no single right way to grieve, and healing doesn't mean forgetting or moving on.

Our approach

Grief counseling at Bodhi gives you a supportive space to explore loss at a pace that feels safe. Grief is shaped by culture, relationships, trauma history, and systemic factors, so care is individualized, affirming, and grounded in trauma-informed and relational approaches.

The goal isn't to make grief go away. It's to help you carry your loss in a way that feels sustainable and supported.
