What depression can look like

Depression looks different from person to person. It may include low mood or a persistent heaviness, losing interest in things that used to matter, low motivation, fatigue even with rest, trouble concentrating or making decisions, changes in sleep or appetite, harsh self-criticism, or pulling away from others. Depression isn't a personal failure. It's often a response to stress, life circumstances, or patterns that can be understood and worked through.

What we may work on together

  • Identifying patterns that keep you feeling stuck or depleted

  • Building structure and routines that support your energy and mood

  • Reconnecting with activities that bring meaning or enjoyment

  • Developing self-compassion and easing harsh self-judgment

  • Strengthening relationships and support systems

Depression

Finding hope and healing from depression

Depression can quietly shape how you experience your life. It may feel like a loss of energy, a sense of disconnection, or a heaviness that makes small tasks feel hard. Sometimes it shows up as numbness instead of sadness, or a sense that you're just going through the motions. If this feels familiar, you're not alone. Depression is common and treatable, and support can make a real difference.

How therapy can help

Therapy for depression helps you re-engage with your life in a way that feels manageable and meaningful. Instead of pushing for quick change, we focus on steady shifts that last. Sessions give you a consistent space to reflect, build insight, and take small steps, at a pace that builds momentum without overwhelm.

We use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to gently challenge negative thinking, somatic therapy for low energy and disconnection in the body, mindfulness-based approaches to ease overwhelm, and trauma-informed care when depression is connected to past or ongoing experiences.
