Because everyone has different experiences and needs, I work with clients to find what works best for them. Therapy isn’t a cookie cutter experience. I make sure to learn about you so I can meet your specific needs and preferences. I work with a wide range of clients and find all of it meaningful and rewarding.
It is always my goal to help any client of mine realize that they themselves can be proud of who they are and acknowledge where they have come from. This not only applies to college students, but is exemplified in them. Working with students is so rewarding because this time in their life is such a unique experience, and is an explosive period of growth. Watching students blossom into who they want to become and implement techniques that can help them achieve their goals is an honor.
I received a bachelor's degree with a double major in Family and Child Sciences and Psychology from Florida State University, and went on to receive a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University. I have experience working with a variety of relationship and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, couple conflict, communication, infidelity, and intimacy. I particularly enjoy working with college students.
In my free time, I enjoy watching baseball and football (go O’s and Ravens!), but most sports will do it for me. I also enjoy playing volleyball, softball, and yoga. I'm currently experimenting with gardening and exploring the Champaign-Urbana area. I like to spend time with my partner watching movies (particularly Lord of the Rings) and new shows. Although I can't match the hardcore fans, I am also a lover of most things anime, video games, and 70s music.
