Today is all about learning a handy EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) technique. How to create and use a container. Do you ever get tired of thoughts circling endlessly in your head?
Or maybe 'bad' memories keep popping up and upsetting you.
Today I'll teach you how to put away thoughts that aren't useful and how to contain challenging memories until you are ready to work with them.
This is one of the first EMDR exercises I teach my clients. That way, even when we bring up difficult memories in session, clients can 'put them away' until we are ready to work with them again.
This is also super useful for people who struggle with anxiety. You know when those thoughts run through your head endlessly? You know they aren't useful, but you just can't shut them off. Using a container can help with that!
