Creating and strengthening a calm place is one of my favorite EMDR exercises.
Think of it this way...you have a memory network or a neural network that says 'I am calm'. I help you find that network and activate it-light it up.
After that, I guide you in the use BLS (Bilateral Stimulation) to strengthen that neural network.
If you practice with it enough - you create a 'shortcut' to that calm neural network so you can access it and use it whenever you want.
It might feel like magic, but it's not!
