Welcome Back, Students

Summer is coming to an end, and it’s time to start moving back towards school. This can be such an exciting time but can also be a stressful transition. With school means balancing classes, homework, meetings, family, social life, and everything in between. Some of you may have no challenge at all with this and thrive on college life, but some of you may not feel your best.

Being a college student provides many opportunities to meet people, learn exceptional things, but for many it can be challenging. This may be this first time living on your own, it may be difficult to balance everyday life, it could be challenging to find where you feel that you fit in at school. On top of a heavy class load, college may feel overwhelming at times.

If you are ever feeling overwhelmed, in a rut, lost, or struggling with your mental health, there are many options to care for your mental health. On top of self-care such as journaling, getting outside, buying a sun lamp, spending time with friends and family, or taking a full rest day, therapy is always an option.

At the University of Illinois, it may be difficult to get an appointment to see a therapist. If you are seeking therapy but can’t get an appointment or want to use a practice outside of school, Bodhi Counseling & Consulting is an option.

For both undergraduate and graduate students on the University of Illinois student insurance has a great financial option.

Undergraduate students have $250 deductible and graduate clients have a $150 deductible, which is your initial out-of-pocket payment before your insurance company covers any of our services. After the deductible is paid for, both graduate and undergraduate students will have a 20% copay of $35/week, which is your out-of-pocket cost for each session. The remaining costs will be covered by your insurance company.

So, in summary:

If you’re an Undergraduate student

o Out-of-pocket payment before sessions begin

· 20% copay

o $35/week out-of-pocket cost for each session, the rest will be covered by your insurance

If you’re a Graduate student
